Huingo (calabash) produces very large green fruits that have a hard thin shell and soft pulp inside. Reaching the size of a large melon, the shell of the fruits is used for containers, scoops, cups, crafts, and artwork.
The chonta is a palm tree. It is a sacred plant for the indigenous of the Amazon jungle. Chonta is used as a medicine, sedative. Its fruit is edible, Its wood is used to build crafts, tools, needle, bows and arrows.
